PRODUCT TRAINING
One very important aspect in the promotion of the Pharma Nord concept is regular product training seminars that are arranged in different countries. Supported by physicians, researchers or others with a relevant background, we arrange training sessions in the evening, workshops and similar events that focus on several important issues, including topics such as absorption of nutrients, documentation, proper and responsible use of nutritional supplements, new science etc.
As part of this goal-oriented education plan, Pharma Nord is in the final stage of building a large Education and Research Centre in the Czech Republic. The centre, which is being built by Pharma Nord Praha s.r.o. with partial financial support from EU and the Czech government, is located in beautiful surroundings in the countryside, just outside of Prague. Both the government and the EU find the cause worthy because they believe that the entire idea of preventing by means of improved nutrition is bound to benefit the population in the long run.
COLLABORATION WITH ELITE ATHLETES
One of Pharma Nord's large-scale projects involving
elite athletes is the nutritional monitoring of a successful
Danish handball team named Slagelse Forenede Håndboldklubber.
In order to map out the increased need for nutrients
among top-notch athletes, key players from the club
go through a regular monitoring routine where blood
samples are taken and sent to Germany for thorough
inspection (a routine known as full blood analysis).
On behalf of these blood analyses, a nutrient status
is established for each player by means of which it
is possible to calculate how much of the different
vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids they need
in the form of supplements. The project has contributed
substantially to reducing the amount of sports injuries.
Based on this experience, a more thorough scheme named
"Slagelse-modellen" (the
Slagelse model) has been established, featuring a comprehensive
manual with dietary guidelines, warm-up and strengthening
exercises plus guidelines for proper use of nutritional
supplements.
The Slagelse-model manual can be downloaded from this link (currently only in Danish)
Denmark's National Track and Field Team has also
benefited from collaborating with Pharma Nord. The
long-lasting dialogue between Pharma Nord and the national
coach has been instrumental for advising top-notch
athletes on proper use of nutritional supplements.
In connection with this collaboration, Pharma Nord
has made a great effort of documenting the quality
and safety of their preparations. As a part of this,
several preparations have been submitted to thorough
testing in order to certify that they do not contain
ingredients that are listed on the official doping
list.
